As with any other building material, both strengths and weaknesses define enhanced wood. High upfront costs, coupled with a lack of successful case studies, have dissuaded many from using sustainable wood to build renewable energy structures. Still though, sustainable wood has plenty to offer. From its unmatched beauty to a strength-to-weight ratio that exceeds that of metal, the benefits of sustainable wood make it an attractive option for renewable energy structures.

The boats are intended for charter by groups of friends and families; the Danish-designed vessels have seating for eight people around a central table.
