We are delighted to announce that Kebony has been recognised as one of the Financial Times Tech Champions of 2023.

Now in its third year, the FT Tech Champions survey highlights how innovative new European technologies are helping the international community overcome the many issues facing modern society, including climate change, energy shortages, and disruptive A.I.

The prestigious accolade of FT Tech Champion, awarded by an expert panel of journalists and business leaders, has been presented to Kebony as the winner of this year’s ‘Manufacturing & Construction’ category. Kebony receives the top prize from a shortlist of four market-leading European businesses, and improves on the company’s position as a finalist of the FT Tech Champions 2022 survey.

Praising Kebony’s patented-protected dual modification™ technology, the special judges report highlights Kebony for its delivery of “fast-growing softwoods with the same toughness and durability as tropical hardwoods, potentially addressing both carbon emissions and deforestation.”

Reflecting on this major achievement, Tom Paemeleire, Chief Executive Officer for Kebony, comments: “We are honoured to see Kebony recognised for our positive impact on the global construction industry. As the need for sustainable alternatives to endangered tropical hardwoods keeps growing, we look forward to the continued supply of durable and beautiful building solutions, without infringing on the safety of the planet’s vital rainforest carbon sinks.”
