After seven years of construction, an outdoor swimming pool opened again in Garbsen in May 2022. 1.7 million euros were invested in the outdoor facilities. A large part of the old trees were preserved, and around 29 new trees were also planted around the site. In between there are daybeds made of Kebony wood or concrete. Large lying areas were also created with Kebony – a total of 200 square meters of Kebony Clear were used. A great example of wood used for a leisure and family pool.

The green area around the swimming pool is 11,000 square meters. Visitors can also use a beach volleyball court. The small playground with a sandpit, swings and seesaws next to the children’s pool is also new. By far the largest piece of play equipment is a six meter high climbing frame. The spacious area with the lawn offers a lot of space and, thanks to the trees, plenty of shade. In the future, the planting areas within the outdoor area will be kept moist using modern irrigation systems, so that no additional staff will be required.

The swimming pool is a 745 square meter stainless steel tub and was filled with 1.3 million liters of water. The pool has two 50-meter and four 25-meter lanes as well as a non-swimmer area. The new toddler pool has a water depth of up to 35 centimeters. It is complemented by a water mushroom, a two-meter-long slide and a small water canal. The stainless steel walls reflect the sun and help with heating. If necessary, the water is additionally heated using energy from solar collectors. The average temperature should be between 20 and 24 degrees.
