If Venice can, so can Vienna!

Perhaps that was the driving idea for those who realised the dream of a café and restaurant in 1950s Viennese style beside the Danube Canal. Close to the departure quay of the Twin City Liner catamaran, which runs between Vienna and Bratislava, they have opened the ship-like restaurant Motto am Fluss. Several thousand guests a day can now relax with refreshments beside the water, and naturally the place was not complete without a sun deck, in the form of a large terrace.

To underline the sun deck’s high quality and good atmosphere, manager Bernd Schlachner and the Austrian company Mareiner Holz (link is external) chose Kebony Clear terrace boards for the floor. This was an excellent choice, because Kebony can tolerate extreme loads and wear, such as that from thousands of guests, without impairing the appearance of the wood.
