Additional Items Needed Before Installation
- The Pro Plug Tool for Wood
- A water clean-up wood glue that will fit the Pro Plug Glue Nozzle
- 100-120 Grit Sandpaper
- A source of compressed air
- The screws, plugs, and wood glue nozzle will be included in your kit.
Installing The Pro Plug System for Kebony
- Determine the locations where screws are needed. Each screw should be at least 1” inch from all sides of the board.
- At the joists, Pre-drill holes with the Pro Plug Tool for Wood. The hole is complete when the stop collar stops spinning. Blow out sawdust from the holes with compressed air.
- With the work surface in a horizontal position, place the Wood Glue Nozzle in the hole and push the glue bottle down. This will open the Nozzle.
- Gently squeeze. You can turn the bottle a 1/4 turn to ensure full coverage of the side wall. Then, pull the Nozzle out of the hole and this will close the holes in the Nozzle.
- The objective is to coat the inside walls of the hole while leaving as little glue at
the bottom of the hole as possible. You can glue several holes at a time and then go back to insert the plugs as long as you add plugs before the glue begins to set.

- Use a rag to wipe off any excess glue that may build up on the Nozzle tip.
- Insert a Kebony wood plug in each hole, chamfered end first, with the wood grain aligned with the board’s grain.
- Using moderate force, tap plugs in with a non-marring mallet until the plug is flush or nearly flush with the work surface.
- Any excess glue can be wiped clean with a damp rag.
- Sand the work surface to ensure transition between plugs is completely smooth. We recommend delaying sanding until after the glue has set.
- Oversanding may reveal a lighter shade in the wood, which is temporary and will even out over time.
