Omgi cabins in nature-integrated luxury by the Storfjord
Along the spectacular mountainsides by the Storfjord in Sunnmøre, we find Kilsti Compact Lodge. An idyllic cluster of small cabins, where modern architecture meets raw Western Norwegian nature. Niels and Christian Haatuft, in collaboration with Omgi, have created a unique accommodation concept. Exterior materials in sustainable Kebony Character provide a cohesive design, and the location offers guests an extraordinary experience. Kilsti Compact Lodge is a prime example of what happens when good ideas and the right partners come together.

A collaboration built on quality and sustainability
The collaboration between Omgi and Kebony is based on a shared philosophy: to unite aesthetics, functionality, and environmental responsibility. Omgi, known for its architect-designed mini-cabins, has developed the cabins with a focus on compact luxury and proximity to nature. Kebony contributes with its characteristic wood technology, and for Kilsti Compact Lodge, Kebony Character has been chosen for both cladding and decking.
The result is structures that age beautifully over time and blend seamlessly into the landscape. A natural extension of their surroundings rather than an intrusion.

Kilsti Compact Lodge – small cabins, grand experiences
The cluster consists of four carefully positioned cabins, all with panoramic views of the fjord and surrounding mountains. Large glass surfaces blur the line between inside and out, allowing light and nature to play the main role throughout the day. On clear nights, guests can experience the starry sky as a living roof above them.
The cabins are designed to provide maximum comfort in a limited area. Material choices and details are carefully considered, with warm surfaces and natural textures creating a cozy and exclusive atmosphere. At the same time, functionality is maintained through smart solutions and fully equipped kitchens, perfect for both short and longer stays. Omgi delivers cabins that have qualified for the exclusive “Made in Norway” label from Innovation Norway.

Sustainable with Kebony Character
The cabins’ spacious decks are clad in Kebony Character. Here, guests can enjoy their morning coffee with a view of the fjord, or gather around the fire pit as evening falls. The wood not only provides an aesthetic enhancement but also withstands the harsh Western Norwegian climate, year after year.
The decks serve as a natural extension of the cabins, creating a fluid interplay between architecture and landscape.

Experiences right outside your door
Kilsti Compact Lodge is more than just a place to stay; it is an excellent base for experiences. The area offers a wide range of activities year-round, from mountain hikes and ski touring to kayaking in the UNESCO-listed Tafjord. For the adventurous, there is also climbing, rafting, and fishing, while those seeking tranquility can find it in the silence and the views.
