Located in Hjorthagen, Stockholm, a striking new cycle and foot bridge has been cleverly designed by Sweco.

Adjacent to the bridge is a very old oak tree, which is significant to the community and important to preserve. As a result, the bridge, which is 28.6m long, is curved to provide the tree with plenty of room to continue growing.

Both the bridge’s pathway and an element of the railings have been made with Kebony Character. Kebony was chosen due to its high durability and hard-wearing characteristics since the bridge will have to withstand substantial cycle and pedestrian traffic. This has been one of the first times Kebony has been used for a bridge in Sweden.
