Kebony Clear wood boards were selected for the deck of the Jones Beach Energy & Nature Center, a facility offering educational programs and events on nature, energy, and human life. These boards allow the center to blend harmoniously with the surrounding coastline.

The hamlet of Wantagh, New York, is home to the Jones Beach Energy & Nature Center. This unique educational organization focuses on the interconnectedness of human life, energy use, and environmental preservation. The Jones Beach Energy & Nature Center offers a variety of programs and events that teach visitors how to become dedicated environmental stewards.

One of the reasons for selecting Kebony Clear wood for the entire deck of the site is its alignment with the center’s Net Zero construction model. Kebony technology, originating in Norway, involves modifying sustainably sourced softwoods to give them the durability, hardness, and dimensional stability properties of tropical hardwoods. This unique process is environmentally friendly and allows structures to require no maintenance, while offering great resistance to climatic hazards and repeated foot traffic: all characteristics that make Kebony the ideal wood for this project.
