“Vi Vente Design” in Drammen, Norway
In Drammen, interior designer Eva Klokkerud has created an outdoor space where classic French garden tradition meets Scandinavian architecture. The result is a complete garden oasis with clear lines, calm material surfaces, and zones designed for use throughout the entire season.
The fully renovated residence from 1895 forms the framework for the project, where the outdoor area is designed as a natural extension of the house’s character. The garden is structured with balance, symmetry, and green rooms that provide both structure and tranquility.
A Unifying Focal Point
At the center of the garden lies a four-by-eight-meter pool, surrounded by a terrace in Kebony Character. The Kebony Character wood connects house, water, and planting, creating a cohesive transition between architecture and landscape.
The terrace accommodates several zones for dining, relaxation, and social gatherings, making the outdoor space an integrated part of the home.
Material Selection with Lasting Quality
For this project, Kebony Character was selected for its natural expression, durability, and low maintenance requirements. Over time, the wood has developed a silver-gray patina that harmonizes with the garden’s classic design language and surrounding materials.
The material requires minimal maintenance and is developed to withstand Nordic climate conditions for many years.

The project demonstrates how thoughtful design and proper material selection can create outdoor spaces with both character and function. Here, every detail is chosen to contribute to the whole, from lines and planting to materiality and quality of use.
